All About Sylvia!
I grew up in Kansas and came to California to attend graduate school
at U.C. Berkeley. While there I fell in love with both the Bay Area
and with a fellow student, who is now my husband. I was a cell biologist
for many years. A change in life and career goals caused me to search for
a new profession. After several years volunteering at my daughter’s
elementary school, then working as a student’s aide, resource aide
and reading specialist’s aide, I received my teaching credential
from San Jose State. I was a year long intern in a 3rd/4th grade combination
class in Santa Clara Unified School District. I am thrilled to be teaching
3rd grade at Barron Park.
Fun Facts about Sylvia
I have lots of hobbies including reading, cooking, taking long walks
with my dog, watching movies, and playing games with my husband and middle-school
daughter, Ivy.
