Hello Barron Park Families! I am excited to be joining the Barron Park staff of amazing teachers! This is my 16th year of teaching in California public schools. I’ve taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math, science, and language arts. This year, I’ll be working closely with the other fourth grade teachers, Mrs. Gupta and Mrs. Young to plan a fun and challenging curriculum for our students.

At home, I celebrate my 14th wedding anniversary to my best friend, Andy, with our daughters Kylie and Cara. They are all supportive and excited that I am at a new school and teaching 4th grade, too! I look forward to a great year and I hope your children do as well.

Below is some information that might be helpful for you and your student. See you on the black top.

Curriculum: Here is a link to the district 4th grade curriculum.

Daily Schedule: To be announced

Homework: Daily homework includes reading 30 minutes each day. Other homework is included on the weekly newsletter. Students should be able to do homework on their own; however, it is okay for them to get help if necessary. Homework should take between 40-60 minutes each days, Wednesday, Thursday, Monday, and Tuesday. This does not include studying for tests or long term projects. Please review with your child the home work as well as them often about what they are doing and learning at school. It will help them to learn better as well as keep you informed about their progress.

Readiness: Please send your child to school fully rested and nourished for a full day of activity. Also send them with the following:

  • a silent reading book of their choice
  • a homework folder (2 pocket folder is fine)
  • 2 pencils
  • a pencil case
  • other items as listed on the 4th Grade Supply Request
