October 2005: Where’s Principal Cathy?
Thanks to PIE, all classrooms at Barron Park will receive SPECTRA art
lessons this year. For the first session, all students and staff
all drew a self portrait. The portraits were assembled into a huge Where’s
Waldo type mural hanging in the Barron Park Office. Stop by
and try to find your child and his/her teacher! |

October 20, 2005: Student Council Office Elections
The whole school voted for the officers of Barron Park’s Student Council.
Enthusiasm was high; 91% of students and staff voted in the election!

Halloween Celebration
We celebrated Halloween by dressing up in costume and parading around the playground.
Our new Student Council Officers (President Anna, Co-Vice Presidents Foster and
Erica, Historian Cassandra, Co-Recorders Cory and Elana) organized the parade
and announced the classes. This year the Barron Park staff dressed as the job
they would pick if not working at Barron Park.

January 13, 2006: Crazy Hair or Hat Day
There were lots of crazy hats and wild hairdos at Barron Park on Crazy Hair or
Hat Day!
February 7, 2006: 100th Day of School
Barron Park students and staff celebrated the 100th Day of School by jumping
rope 100 times, making 100 baskets, bouncing a ball 100 times, and collecting
$1.00 (100 pennies) for the Katrina Hurricane victims. We collected $457 to
donated to our sister school district in New Orleans to help replace the books
and other supplies that were destroyed.
March 2, 2006: Read Across America & Pajama Day
We had fun reading in our pajamas in celebration of Read Across America Day.
March 5, 2006: 10th Annual Juana Run

2006: Our Egret
It has been raining and raining and raining. An egret has joined our resident
pair of mallard ducks and enjoys feeding in the sodden field.
May 17, 2006—Beach Day
We had a great time celebrating the end of STAR testing by picnicking on the lawn, playing with beach balls, and eating popsicles.
