August 22, 2000
At the beginning of the 2000-2001 school year, construction continues. The office area and Rooms 1-3 are still being remodeled. And Room 9 is a jumble of furniture!
October 6, 2000
Work continues on the Library and the new wing has been painted. We were thrilled to see that the fence around the field is finally protecting our new sod.

Our constellation groups are in the process of choosing names for the year. So far posters have appeared for Constellation Constelación, Gold Reflective Wild Cruising Broncos, The Golden Redwoods, The Hawks, The Library Lions, The Magic Dragons, These Remarkably Jaunty Kids, and
The Turtles.
October 31, 2000: Halloween Celebration
We celebrated Halloween by dressing up in costume and parading around the playground. Our new Student Council Officers (President Brian, Vice President Joy, Recorder Melinda, and Historian Alison) managed the parade with style and flair. This year the Barron Park staff decided to help out by becoming construction workers for the day. Here are the early arrivals, most of us, and the entire crew.

We were overjoyed to see our new lawn emerge. Heat (too much or not enough) continues to be a problem in some classrooms. Here is the solution to overheating caused by a thermostat mounted by a hole open to the outside air.
January 24, 2001: Crazy Hair and Hat Day
It was fun to see so many crazy hairstyles and weird hats at Barron Park to celebrate this Theme Day.
March 31, 2001: 5th Annual Juana Run
Check out the One Mile Results, One Mile Results by Age Group, 8 K Results, 8 K Results by Age Group, and the Kid Results.
April 25, 2001: Jump Rope for Heart
Today we jumped rope with our Constellation Groups for the good of our own hearts and to raise money for the American Heart Association, who thanked us with a plaque now hanging in the Barron Park School Office.

Our garden vanished the last week of school, filled in to make room for temporary classrooms. Here is the first one being installed and two of them nestled under the trees. The new classrooms are almost finished and are beautifully clean and empty. And the tiles we made last year look wonderful in the new bathrooms.
June 30, 2001
Construction has started on the old
wing. The movers have emptied the old
classrooms (which now look much bigger!) and moved everything to the
new rooms, which don't
look nearly as large as they did last week! Despite the mess inside the
new rooms, the outside
looks nearly ready. This slideshow (which will open in a new window and
advance automatically) shows the Move
from Room 9 to Room 17.
